DSLR, bad picture much??

These arent excuses for taking bad pictures

~ need expensive gears to get great results ~
• ive seen images by using 1000D 10MP same as (most likely to be better) than 550D 18MP

~ only pros can get pros results ~
• define professional .. i know im not :)

~ its in AUTO cuz the camera knows best ~
• you are smarter than your camera, you know best

~ photography is too complex to understand ~
• you dont have to know your camera's circuit board to take great pictures

Canon EF-S 18-55 mm IS ~OPERATION~

One day my Canon EF-S 18-55 mm IS autofocus(AF) was not working properly.
It can focus inward but cannot focus outwards..

I decide to open the lens to look at what was wrong with the lens.
1st look,i found out that the AF ribbon cable was ripped.Afraid of loosing my one and only 18mm wide angle lens, i close back the lens..
it took me some time before i really operate the lens..
heres some pic of whats inside of the Canon EF-S 18-55 mm IS.

~Pictures were taken by using Canon 50mm at f1.8~

After removing 4 screws, detaching 5 ribbon cable & putting away the circuit board

This is after ive remove the AF motor.

The AF motor without its cover

heres the problem.. ripped/separated/torn apart AF ribbon cable

Just for fun, ive also remove the aperture lens mechanisms and it turn out to be the hardest thing to remove at that time.. LOL

till today, my 18-55 lens is still works but with a 1 way AF..
